___
What should I do if a Rez unit develops a fault?
First check the unit type (identification). (Located on the nameplate of the unit)
Call Rez customer service (+41 848 00 10 50) or mail your problem to us at: info@rez-ag.ch
___
The unit’s motor does not run.
• Ensure that power is connected to the unit.
• With height-adjustable units (new design): check that the main
switch (top edge, on the right) is turned on.
_
This switch normally serves to electrically isolate the unit for
repair or maintenance.
• Check connectors for loose contacts.
• With IMA units (with built-in coin-operated time-switch):
check the coin-acceptor unit.
• Check the heater thermostat. Clean the contact surfaces on the
bimetallic strip, so electricity can flow properly.
• Check the heater and the heater wiring.
• Check that the relay on the control circuit board is operational.
• Check the starting capacitor (enables the motor to start).
• For units with optoelectronic proximity sensing: check the
proximity controller.
If none of the previous checks reveal or correct the fault, then replace the motor/fan assembly.
___
The motor does not run in a unit with optoelectronic proximity sensing (opto-sensor and control circuit board are in order).
Check the heater and wiring, clean the thermostat. If none of the previous checks reveal or correct the fault, then replace the motor/fan assembly.
___
The motor starts slowly, runs sluggishly and shuts off after a short interval.
Change the starting capacitor.
___
The motor runs, but the air is cold.
Check the control circuit board, the heater and the wiring between them.
___
The motor runs and will not stop.
For units with a pushbutton
• Check whether the pushbutton is jammed – if so, replace the
4-piece pushbutton set.
• Check the impulse transmitter (internal switch).
• Check the control circuit board / time-delay relay.

For units with optoelectronic proximity sensing
• Adjust the optoelectronic sensor (potentiometer).
• Check the optoelectronic sensor.
• Check the control circuit board.
___
The unit runs, but there is a burning smell.
Clean the fan impeller wheel and the heater
(recommendation: 3-4 times a year).
___
Faults with the height adjustment:
cable, chain, noisy slides, mirror.
